For second year in a row, West Valley Dance Company has been nominated for the Industry Dance Awards!
Through a meticulous selection process that spans nine national dance competitions, five dance conventions, and the entire professional dance community, the Industry Dance Awards recognizes performers and dance icons in numerous award categories.
2023 Outstanding Performances
These performances received the prestigious honor of being presented with an IDA Outstanding Performance Award at their regional competition. In order to be eligible, these must be group/line performances in the Elite level. 2,409 routines were nominated for all outstanding performances and only 10 were selected for Choreography of the Year.
2023 People’s Choice
The IDA “People’s Choice Award” will be determined by a popular vote and will take place online between August 18 – September 1, 2023. The winner of the IDA “People’s Choice Award” will be announced on October 18, 2023. 438 routines were nominated for people’s choice and only 61 were selected.
The Preliminary People’s Choice Voting is from Friday, August 18, 2023 at 6:00 am PST – Friday, August 25, 2023 at 9:00pm PST. From there the top 5 will be selected. The Final People’s Choice Voting is from Monday, August 28, 2023 at 6:00 am PST – Friday, September 1, 2023 at 9:00pm PST.

The Industry Dance Awards (IDA) & Cancer Benefit Show is an annual event that brings the global dance community together in celebration of creativity, industry innovation, and the fight against cancer. This spectacular event will take place at the historic and iconic Avalon Theater in Hollywood, California. The IDA brings together dancers, educators, pioneers, and dance icons that will be recognized for their outstanding achievements and artistic contributions in 2023. A star-studded red carpet, brilliant performances, and a presentation from Dancers Against Cancer (DAC) combine to make the IDA the most prestigious event in the dance industry.
